# Data Credits

## What are the Data credits?

Data Credits are a prepaid balance used within the Chirp ecosystem.

They can be used for:

* Service fees
* SIM card top-ups
* Reward claims
* Additional use cases coming soon

1 Data Credit = $0.01 USD

Data Credits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

They appear in your transaction history (e.g. when claiming rewards).

## Topping Up Data Credits

To top up your Data Credits, visit: <https://app.chirpwireless.io/settings/data-credits>

1. Enter the amount of Data Credits you want to add
2. Choose a payment method:

* Credit or debit card
* PayPal
* NowPayments (for crypto payments)

### PayPal

To top up via PayPal:

1. Enter the amount of Data Credits
2. Select PayPal as the payment method
3. Log in to your PayPal account
4. Click Complete Purchase to finish the transaction

Once the transaction is confirmed, your balance will update automatically.

### Debit or Credit Card

To pay with a card:

1. Enter the amount of Data Credits
2. Select Credit or Debit Card
3. Fill out the payment form
4. Submit the form to complete the purchase

Once the transaction is confirmed, your balance will update automatically.

### NowPayments

To top up using cryptocurrency:

1. Enter the amount of Data Credits
2. Select NowPayments
3. Follow the instructions provided by NowPayments to complete the transaction
